What you can do

Expense tracking and budgeting that does not feel like homework.

Mony is made for the money matters of families in Indonesia: your records, budgets, accounts and pockets in one place. Everything below can be used today.

Record an expense in about three taps.

Pick a category, type the amount, save. Short enough to do while you queue at the till, so your records do not pile up until the weekend.

Always know how much you can still spend.

Set a limit for each category. Every budget shows what is left, not only what has been spent, and flags a category that is nearly used up or already over.

The Budgets screen: Rp887,000 left this month, with the amount left in categories such as Transport and Bills.

Money for each purpose stays separate.

Record the balance of each account, then split it into pockets, a kind of sub-account for one purpose: monthly groceries, an emergency fund, a holiday.

The Accounts and pockets screen: one bank account with four pockets, plus another bank account and an e-wallet.

With Bank Jago? No retyping.

Upload the transaction-history PDF from Bank Jago, an Indonesian bank. Mony reads it, shows what would be added, and waits for your approval before saving.

Mony is not affiliated with Bank Jago. PDF import exists for Bank Jago only; imports for other banks, including BCA, BNI and BRI, are not available. Transactions from any bank or e-wallet can still be recorded by hand.

The Import bank statement screen: a summary of the Bank Jago PDF, a balance check, and eight new transactions to be added.

How it works

Start in three steps.

  1. Create an account

Sign up with an email address and a password. Your bank password is never asked for.

  2. Record your first transaction

Pick a category, type the amount, save. Bank Jago customers can upload the transaction-history PDF.

  3. Set a limit, see what is left

Make a budget for the categories that overrun most often. Every budget shows how much is still left.

How we build

Three things we do not do.

  1. Show ads

Your screen holds your own business and nothing else. No banners, no promotions slipped in between your records.

  2. Sell your data

Your records stay your business. We do not sell them to anyone.

  3. Ask for your bank password

Mony never asks for a bank password. You record things yourself, or upload a transaction-history PDF.
