Field · Schools & course providers

School and course apps that parents actually use.

Parent communication, attendance, school fee payments and timetables in one app that stays clear on a phone. We design and build it together with your organisation.

This page describes what we can build. We have no client projects in this field to show yet; our example of the work is Mony, our own product.

What is usually needed

Communication with parents
Announcements, class messages and read receipts, so important information does not get lost in WhatsApp groups.
Attendance
Teachers record attendance from their phones, and parents see it the same day.
School and course fee payments
Bills, payment status and reminders, with payment through a licensed payment provider instead of transfer receipts checked one by one.
Timetables
Lesson, tutoring and activity schedules, including last-minute changes that parents need to hear about.
Progress notes
Where needed, report cards or teacher notes are shared only with the parents of the pupil concerned.

What we consider from the start

Children’s data and UU PDP
Indonesia’s Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 27 of 2022, UU PDP) classes children’s data as specific personal data, and processing it requires the consent of a parent or guardian. We design with only the data needed, role-based access and a record of consent. This is not legal advice.
Budget Android phones and weak signal
Many parents use phones with limited storage and data. Pages are kept light, and we aim for pages already opened to stay readable when the signal drops.
WhatsApp-friendly sign-up
Parents are invited through a link sent on WhatsApp, then see their child straight away without confusing steps.
Multiple languages, including right-to-left
Indonesian, English, Chinese or Arabic for international schools and pesantren, with right-to-left layout for Arabic.
Different roles
Admins, teachers, parents and pupils see different things. Nobody sees more than they need to.

How to start

  1. Pick one process

Attendance or school fee billing, for example. We map how it works today, including the parts done on paper and WhatsApp.

  2. Try it in one class

The first version is tried by one class or one branch, and feedback from teachers and parents is collected.

  3. Expand step by step

Once it is running, the next processes are added one at a time.

What we have already done in our own product

  • Four languages in one app, including Arabic with right-to-left layout
  • A web app that can be installed on a phone’s home screen (PWA)
  • Subscriptions with a trial period, and data that is not deleted when a subscription ends
  • Hundreds of automated tests, including for changes to the data structure

Common questions

Do we have to replace our existing system?

Not always. Sometimes all that is needed is an app for parents that reads data from the existing system. We look at this together during mapping.

Does Candora have a ready-made school app?

Not yet. We build around your organisation’s processes, in stages, starting with the one process where the benefit is felt most.

Can it connect to payments?

Yes, through a licensed payment provider. The choice of provider is discussed during mapping.

What about parents who rarely use apps?

That is exactly what we design for first: a link from WhatsApp, few steps, large clear text and everyday language.

Tell us about the processes at your organisation.

Five short questions, then the message goes out from your own WhatsApp or email.
