Web & mobile app development for family and education products.
From an idea to an app used by real parents, pupils or families: a web app, a PWA that installs on a phone, or Android and iOS apps built with Flutter. Built in stages, and you can try it at every stage.
The situation
You have a picture of the product: from your own experience as a parent, from customer complaints, or from a process in your organisation that still runs on paper and WhatsApp groups. What is missing is a team that can turn it into an app people actually use.
The biggest risk is rarely the technology. It is building too much before you know what gets used. So we start with a small first version, put it in users’ hands as soon as is sensible, and add to it from there.
Is it a fit?
A good fit for
- Startups or small businesses that already know who their users are and what problem they are solving
- Schools, course providers or foundations that want to move a process into an app
- Teams that want one app for web, Android and iOS without three separate teams
- Products that need more than one language, including Arabic
Not a good fit for
- You need a finished app within days
- You are looking for a ready-made company profile site or online shop
- The idea is still very early and the users are unclear: product consulting is a better place to start
What you get
- A web app, a PWA, or Android and iOS apps (Flutter), as agreed in the proposal
- A version you can try at every stage, on your own devices
- Screens that stay clear on budget phones and small displays
- Multiple languages where needed, including right-to-left layout
- Automated tests for the parts that matter, such as data and payments
- Documentation for running, updating and extending it
How it works
Mapping
We map the users, the main flows and the limits of the first version. The result is a written proposal: scope, stages, estimated time and estimated cost.
A design you can try
The main flows are first made as clickable screens, so decisions are made before expensive code is written.
Built in stages
Each stage ends with a version you can try and comment on. The scope of the next stage can be adjusted.
Launch & handover
The app goes live on a server or in the app stores, then the code, accounts and documentation are handed over.
What you own at the end
- The source code, with its full change history
- Service accounts such as the domain, server and app store accounts, which we recommend setting up in your name from the start
- Documentation on running, updating and backing up the data
- A walkthrough for your team, or for the team that will take it over
Who owns what is set out in the proposal, before work starts.
Cost and time
The figure below is the starting point for a small first web/PWA version. Flutter apps for Android and iOS start from IDR 75 million, school and course-provider apps from IDR 60 million, and maintenance after handover from IDR 3.5 million per month. The final cost is written down after the first conversation and the mapping, including what is and is not covered. Payment in stages: 50% upfront for projects under IDR 30 million, 30/40/30 for larger ones.
- From
- IDR 45 million
- Estimated time
- 2–4 months
Common questions
Is a PWA or an Android/iOS app better?
It depends on your users. A PWA opens in the browser and can be added to the home screen without an app store; it suits a first version and users who are reluctant to download. A Flutter app suits products that need device features or a presence on the Play Store and App Store. We weigh this up together during mapping.
Why Flutter?
One codebase for Android and iOS, so maintenance costs do not double. If there is a strong reason to use a different technology for your product, we say so in the proposal.
Will the app work well on budget Android phones?
That is part of what we test: download size, speed on slow networks and layout on small screens. The targets are written into the proposal.
Who holds the code and accounts?
The code, accounts and documentation are handed over to you. The details are written into the proposal before work starts.
Do you still help after launch?
Yes. Maintenance and further development are discussed separately, based on what you need.
